My Purpose

The Universe presents me and you, infinite opportunities. Some desirable, others not so much. Some not as anticipated in a slightly disappointing manner – others a delightful surprise. That in mind, I had a number of longer term opportunities presented to me while I played in Florida – some local, others international. None felt appropriate for me due to timing, requirements or otherwise not in alignment with My Quest. Plentiful were the smaller opportunities, or rather gifts, that I joyfully took advantage of. There were deep, moving, possibly life-changing, conversations with just the right people at exactly the perfect time. Blissful surprises were spontaneously given and received. Chances to overcome previous hang-ups presented and were hurdled. An exciting highlight was the unexpected reunion with a friend of many years and former wellness coaching client in California. She had courageously sold her business and her house and was now on her personal journey traveling the United States indefinitely. She is expanding her heart and her world and living even more fully than before. This, of course, warms my heart which glowed even brighter when she mentioned my inspiration in her story. I bow to her and the growing numbers like this impressive lady who bravely break free from the comfortable way things used to be in exchange for creating a more fulfilling life!

I mused about my purpose for ending up in Florida yet again – as it totally was not as initially planned/expected. While I came up with possibilities here and there, one of the wisest people in my life made a good point, “You will always come up with reasons for wherever you end up…. for all the choices you make!” So True! All choices are honored and, in the grander scale of things, we can make no mistake. This was a concept impossible for a few to grasp earlier in my life when they would sneer, “You have a reason for everything!” as if it were a bad thing. Speaking about reasons for things and purpose, that is a topic I hear of a lot and am asked about frequently…..my/our purpose for being here. Over the years, I have received many, what I call, Downloads from Above (or from Within depending upon your understanding). For the most part, these are delivered in pictures and feelings; rarely are words involved. That is why it was so significant when I “got” an entire couple sentences. Here it is word for word to deliberate if it resonates with you. “Our purpose on this planet is multi-faceted and infinite. Although it may be fun or somewhat helpful to define; to narrow it down to a specific thing in human words is to grossly diminish it.” Personally, I could narrow it down to one word, “Love”. But even that would diminish it because I don’t need a word to know what I mean and those that do need a word could not fathom its infinite context. And for those who grasp the profound humor, “I am on earth to make waves”.

Back to my Florida stay reasons - A couple months served as a restorative retreat for me. A time to go within while spending hours without…seemingly alone in Nature.  Dolphins, shells, beach, turtles, bunnies, flowers, trees, sunshine, storms all played their magical parts. Consulting with another Dear Sage for her insights, she felt this was my good-bye trip. I know. I’ve implied such before. But this really felt like my Farewell Tour…….then again, ask The Who, Tina Turner, Elton John and Cher about Farewell Tours.

If you are ever in the area of Sarasota, Florida, I highly recommend you dropping a tiny bit south to Beyond-Wishes Well-being & Rejuvenation Institute in Nokomis. Abby works her magic in delivering the most phenomenal facials, among other services. Under the influence of her intense pampering, I floated off to another realm. When gently coaxed back, I felt like a whole new person! Abby Smiley Krause has also created experiences for individuals who do not regularly interact with the elements of earth, air, water and fire. As these are all such necessary influences in the balance of our lives, her ingenious way to weave them into her services is beyond-words benefit to those in need. It may surprise you how many folks these days are living nomadic lives, like mine, without a “home base”.  Unlike me, they create a regular income online in various arenas and many refer to themselves as Digital Nomads. Blogging classes are offered showing others how they too can make money via this vehicle. Their online blogs and articles are interrupted with distracting ads of all sorts. Most of the ads are things the bloggers aren’t even passionate about, just items that are profitable for one reason or the other. These professional bloggers make quite a lucrative income in this manner. This is

all well and good for them. About That Tropical Spa Retreat…….

Those who know me or have been “following” me for years are also aware of my pursuit of a Tropical Spa Retreat. Its concept and details were “downloaded” to me years ago (15 or more) while still living in California. Since that time I have contacted thousands of people, researched extensively, traveled to many countries, considered numerous offers/possibilities and, so far, still not manifested this tropical sanctuary.

Obviously, we have infinite possible futures. Every action we take, every word we speak and every thought we think has the ability to shift the path we are on. Perhaps that Tropical Spa Retreat was one potential future and I took some action that changed it. This is not a conclusive fact as there is always the chance for it yet to materialize sometime in my future. I am still open to the possibilities and taking inspired action. Curiously, I cannot say I am passionate about the idea any longer – at least the way it was presented to me all those years ago. What has my attention more profoundly is my tropical home that first started to appear as a recurring night dream described in my blog post Baring My Soul and Planting A Dream Although I did not first conjure up the vision in my waking imagination, the more details I am provided and the more I contemplate it, the more intensely I desire it - which brings me to my next observation.

Often I reference the term “past lives”. The reason for such is, whether folks believe in reincarnation or not, they understand the concept. However, my understanding is that time and space are creations for human minds as most can’t compute everything going on simultaneously. Personally I believe in my living other lives, for one reason, I remember snippets of many of them. An excellent, striking example is My Pirate Story So if everything is going on at the same time, and if I sense so many intense details of my tropical beach home repeatedly, perhaps there is some kind of “bleed-through” from another dimension or timeline. So vivid are the sensations, at times, I really feel I am living it! Just in case it is on this beautiful planet in this present lifetime, I continue to search for doors that may lead me there.

Jumping back to the more current “NOW”…..I thought I was headed to California in January. Even had my trusty Triptik all lined up. Just days before I would have left, a couple Earth Angels generously put a quite comfortable roof over my head in Florida. It was a good thing. The next day my daughter called saying she was coming to Florida to spend time with me for her birthday. My original idea was to just drive to California and surprise my family there. Heaven shifted my plans so I wasn’t heading to California as Natasha was heading to Florida! With only 3 full days together, we had a whirlwind of fun. Beach, working out, pampering, yummy food, introducing to friends, museums, a painting party and, of course, shopping…. Happy Birthday BabyGirl! So thrilled for our precious time together!

As usual, every year after Natasha’s birthday comes another celebration I cherish, Valentine’s Day. Over the decades I have experienced some very heavy reasons to warrant an intense distaste for the annual event. Yet, I am happy to report, it remains my favorite “holiday”. Of course I don’t need an actual day specifically in honor of Love. Just like one needn’t wait for New Year’s Day to make a fresh start. For me, every day is Valentine’s Day when I remember to see and act through the eyes of Love…..unconditional Love, that is!

My next big steps still elude me. Madagascar and surrounding islands off the east coast of Africa are presenting quite a bit. Research on the internet is a given but the Universe hasn’t shown me a way to physically explore yet. Anyone want to take me on a trip there with them? Might be just the ticket for getting out of an old groove OR enjoying some delightful weather OR living an adventure OR possibly being a part of something grand J

At present, I continue taking baby steps walking my talk:
Letting Go of the old that no longer serves me.
Not beating down doors or forcing things.
Listening to my inner guidance.
Making choices that bring most peace.
Living in the NOW.
Going with the flow.

Destination Unknown

Who was that person named Michelle Hazlewood who had 1 year, 5 year, 10 year and more plans all plotted out? Who was that person with all those specific worldly goals? It sure seems like another individual than I am right now and, possibly, another lifetime! Current ME has goals like peace and happiness in the NOW moment. Where I will be to live those goals tomorrow, next week or next month continue to remain elusive. It is becoming more natural for me to go with the flow – even when that flow takes me places I thought I’d never go in my wildest imagination. Good thing “never” is not in my usual vocabulary.

December’s end and January certainly brought me to completely unexpected destinations and experiences. It’s not important that I share the specific details – only that my spiritual growth has expanded in leaps and bounds beyond anything I would have thought. I ask the Universe for certain lessons, or “remembrances”, manifested in the best way for me. Sure enough, a Higher Power knows better than my human self how to deliver!

So my main share in this blog post, from my personal encounters, is this. I recommend you define your goals, say your prayers or put out your requests to God or The Universe but not be attached to all the specific “hows” and even the exact outcomes. While you could get what you think you what with your human recipe, you may be limiting the grand gifts you could be receiving. It’s fine to have or follow a certain formula – I just suggest you add, “this or something better” and allow for flexibility in your process.

It’s been over a decade now since I received, what I refer to as, the "download" regarding a Tropical Dolphin Spa Retreat Center. Many details were revealed to me then, with equal amounts left mysterious. The whole picture was in the realm of my capabilities but not necessarily my personal dreams/desires. Reflecting on various aspects, I decided, if it were for the highest and best good of all, things would fall into place for this manifestation. If this was indeed Divinely inspired, I would joyfully walk through necessary doors but would not break down doors.

Since that event, so long ago, my journey has taken me through a variety of interesting situations in many parts of the world. Travel with me, if you so desire, by subscribing to my blog or perusing previous posts. Sometimes I wonder if any of these adventures are bringing me closer to that tropical retreat vision. God, the Universe, often works in ways mysterious to humankind and this may be a perfect example.

Even now, I continue to walk through the doors presenting to me and one particular opportunity keeps popping up as a key puzzle piece – moving my lots in Costa Rica. That gorgeous property was from a time of different energy in my life. My former husband and I purchased it with expectations of building our dream home there. While the land is definitely magnificent and in close proximity to jungle and beach, it is not appropriate for the new energy necessary for the development of the retreat haven I am envisioning. So I believe it is necessary to sell or trade it in order to open the door to acquire land more suitable for that place “shown to me”.

Aloha and Mahalo

My 48 hour drive from Florida to California paid off. I was able to have some Halloween fun with my kids. Carved pumpkin creations with Jeff and became Cleopatra with Tasha aka Natasha Romanoff. Sure helps staying a “kid” myself!

It was only a short rest period as, less than a week later, I was having an eagle’s eye view of clouds, land and sea en route to the Big Island of Hawaii. The Hilo side was lush with greenery due to the fact it rains quite often. Kona’s coast brought a bit less rain and a beauty all its own.

One of the most magnificent opportunities I was privileged to have was a close encounter with a large pod of Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins. Guiding me to Kealakekua Bay was my intuitive dolphin sister, Kim Nelli. We have been “friends” for years but hadn’t met in person until that day. Our sisterhood goes way back lifetimes but our friendship this time started when I saw Kim’s youtube welcoming her daughter Naiya into this world….assisted in labor by dolphins! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lmg7MKnW2Zc I contacted her and had been trying to meet in person for years seeming to just miss each other many times…..in California, in Florida and Hawaii. Just a reminder all happens in Divine Timing.  Our dolphin magic unfolded in spite of the cloud coverage keeping the sun from illuminating the turquoise depths. Spinners appeared everywhere….playing, leaping and interacting with us. There were at least 10 proud mamas showing off their precious babies. I was so thrilled I felt like I would burst with the inexplicable feelings communicated via the dolphins. One even sported a leaf on his (or her) pectoral fin. I so wanted to dive down and play the "leaf game" but forgot how buoyant doubling 2 wet suits can be! It was impossible for me to leave the surface. The dolphins comforted me in my dilemma by frequently swimming close by making a myriad of clicks, whistles and other pulsating sounds. They even created enchanting rainbow bubbles that danced to the surface fairly magically. Kim captured much of it on video and shared a brief clip with me . Kim has teamed up with another dolphin sister (another serendipitous connection of mine), Yu-Wen Allison Lu and a couple more goddesses I’ve not met yet. Things Are Not Always As They Seem!

My next grand adventure was precipitated by the fact I needed to be out of my apartment at the hotel (where I was previously staying) for a few hours due to pest control activity. So I embarked on one of my favorite occupations….moseying along Casey Key musing and reminiscing. In an almost trance-like state, I was about to turn on Blackburn Point to exit the Key when I saw the sign. “Open House”! On North Casey Key? Yes! So I continued north until I came upon “The Property”.

It was a magnificent 8.8 acre sanctuary with a few humble but cozy structures upon it. Definitely one of a kind – super unique to the area. It stretched from its 400 foot private beach to the intracoastal waterway including a totally private lagoon. The agents inside welcomed me and loved my “picture” I painted for them of the spiritual retreat center. Walking the property felt so peaceful….almost sacred. As I approached the lagoon, a manatee suddenly surfaced forcefully expelling air as if in greeting. Since the agent with me hadn’t seen it, I requested an encore of the sizeable but gentle beast. He

immediately obliged then moved on. I envisioned all the different activities and uses of the various areas for people to come for personal transformation in serene nature. In presenting my vision, I immediately made it known that I personally did not have the means to purchase the property…..a mere 15 million. However, if everything lined up logically, I could recruit investors. A couple days later I get a phone call to meet with the listing agent. Delighted, I returned and learned more about the property. Reiterating my position regarding the finances and my wish to respect everyone’s time, I said one of the first things we need to determine, before spending a lot of time and energy in this pursuit, was if we could get it zoned for the intended use. The listing agent got in touch with the architect and got the ball rolling to find the answer. In the meantime, he said I was welcome to visit the property anytime and, if I wanted to access the buildings, to contact one of the other agents and she’d meet me to unlock them.

One day I visited the property with a potential investor. We took our sweet time exploring including going to the beach past the rocks were it opened up for miles. As we were walking, I got a very clear message in my head, “my car is being towed”. Not wanting to fuel that thought with energy or alarm my companion, I continued strolling back at the same speed. Sure enough, when we returned, the car was not there. Without going into all the details, things had lined up like the perfect storm for the incident to have happened. While this event surely was what most people would label “bad”, I was truly provided for every step of the sometimes inconvenient way. In the process of this incident, I realized there was way more to the story other than, "all 4 out of state sibling owners had decided this was a good time in the market to sell the place". 

A couple days later, on another investor friend’s advice, I visited the county clerk’s computer to peruse the public records. All sorts of sensational details revealed themselves to me in the process. The owner, who paid my car’s “bail”, had initiated legal action against his 3 siblings resulting in a court order to sell the place. So everyone didn’t really want to sell this history rich property that had been in the family at least 70 years. Now, even if the price was 2 million dollars, I wasn’t interested. I didn’t want to take a property from someone who didn’t want to offer it…..that’s just bad karma.

In addition to dreaming, I was also frequenting the property which, at the time I was referring to as The Sanctuary, to see how things and people around were “normally” - i.e. not on their best behavior. I didn’t give the whole juicy scoop about the towing incident but it revealed quite a bit about how people were around there normally. Another thing I discovered a couple days later was the tide. The water came up so high that I could not easily navigate the rocks to get to the open beach. Being closed in on that little beach…..well, now even 8.8 acres felt a little claustrophobic. I do realize $15,000,000 is a drop in the bucket for a few folks reading my blog. For me, it’s a lot of money – particularly when I would be potentially the steward of other peoples’ money being invested. I wanted to familiarize myself with the property and possibilities from all angles. 

Clearly, the towing incident and the high tides, which coincided at a similar time, showed me that it was time to wrap up this possibility. It was also an oddly wrapped powerful gift saving me much time, money and energy on something not meant to be. Looking back on the weeks I was there, I was living the dream. Being there daily, once or two times, I got to witness nature at different times of the day. Everywhere I’d look was postcard worthy. I was experiencing the retreat as if it were currently in existence!

So here’s echoing my previous post. I continue living my dreams as most live their worries. Years ago, I used to be a little disappointed when things didn’t happen as I imagined they could. Now, it’s like reading a book or watching a movie with an ending not so desired. One might think, “I’d have written that differently”, and then simply move on with their life. So that’s where I am, calling out to the Universe a confident “Next!”

While I know your journey doesn’t look quite like mine, I also know you have your own flavor of adventures in “the jungles of space and time” as my friend Mike Dooley puts it.
