Evolving As A Human and A Call to Mexico

Springtime is upon us in the Northern Hemisphere. For me, this is part of the constant theme of New Beginnings. It is a reminder that there is not just one particular time of the year for starting afresh. Rather, every minute can be a new beginning. It all starts with a choice. Personally, I note the old recordings echoing in my mind. More often than not, I’m able to catch them and decide to keep looping them or rewrite them.

This is the same for my expectations, my definitions, and where I thought I “should” be in my life at this point *. I realize these are colored, for the most part, by the indoctrination of other people’s expectations, definitions and shoulds. Even though I am drastically different from the person I was even 10 years ago, there still remain vestiges of the past that I have allowed, consciously or otherwise, to continue holding sway in my world. Now, I choose to harness the abundant energy of Spring to reevaluate how I see myself, the world, and everyone in it. I am judging less and accepting more. Keep in mind, accepting doesn’t mean condoning or liking a situation or anyone’s behaviors. It means being at peace in the acknowledgement of what is. If there is something I can peacefully do to make a positive difference, I do. Otherwise, I accept, then focus in a new direction – a direction I can have a positive impact on a situation.

This mindset also influences my ongoing Tropical Quest. Admittedly, I am still playing human. But I am grateful to be able to shift my frustration over “not being there yet” more quickly than in the past. Having preached for decades about the importance of the journey, I am accepting and embodying that truth even more. I have been in an area that is not my preference for an extended time - very cold (for me), and not near an appropriate beach. I must admit it has been, many a moment, challenging to practice what I preach.

Yet, I have been doing pretty darn well under the circumstances. In the past, I have agreed to work exchanges or situations that didn’t feel quite right just to get away from where I was – just to be in an environment where nature nurtured me more. Now, while I still long for surroundings that feed my spirit, I have passed on dozens of opportunities that didn’t feel peaceful. This is huge considering they could have had me on a delightful beach that enlivened my body and soul.

Before Barefooting and Earthing became trends, I was
already living them - as much as possible, that is. In some countries, like Ecuador, the Bahamas, some areas of Hawaii, Costa Rica and more, I reveled in the joy of going months without shoes.
Only my naked feet hit the sand on sunrise runs and sunset strolls - shoes on the beach seem sacrilegious to me. Since I am not in an area of my preference (as of this writing), weather and treadmill running dictate shoes be included in my wardrobe. Mine were getting pretty sad. Lack of extra money, and feeling like I’d surely be back to my beach any day, had me continuing to use them. My observant, bighearted host took me to a footwear store specializing in running and bought me a “proper” pair of shoes.
On the surface, this may seem simply like a very nice thing to do. But the significance was more far reaching. As many know, when one is living in uncomfortable conditions, it can be much harder for self-care. It is sheer discipline that has me get up early every morning and work out. The new shoes felt so incredibly better on my feet, I couldn’t help but notice it with every bout of cardio. Feeling lighter and bouncier on the outside, translated to feeling lighter and having a glimmer of excitement on the inside. Thanking you with every mile Kathy! Perhaps this energetic shift will help me manifest a desirable tropical situation sooner than later – one where my footprints will imprint welcoming white sand.
This potent reminder from The Universe via Mike Dooley was very synchronistic for me in its timing:

There's nothing quite as demoralizing in the human experience as trying to use your brain to calculate the logistics of a dream’s manifestation. However tempting, it can’t be done.
You just need to define what you want in terms of your desired end result, MH. And then get busy doing what you can, with what you’ve got, in every direction that feels right, while insisting upon no direction.
Then you trust me to connect the dots between all your baby steps, and the resulting masterpiece will blow you away.
I’m always with you, The Universe

Remaining open to infinite possibilities, my baby steps include exploring revisiting the Riviera Maya in Mexico. A friend in the area generously invited me to go adventuring with her for a couple weeks. It would be lovely if I could line up a work exchange after that on, or in walking distance to, the beach. If you have any leads or connections for me in that vicinity, please let me know.

Meanwhile, Facebook has been less and less friendly to my liking as time goes by as many others have been experiencing too. Although I am not ready to completely exit the platform, I would like to connect with my like-minded peeps on other social networks. I am, by no means, a social media expert. Rather I flounder around, trusting I will make the appropriate connections for the highest good of all there at this time. I invite you to check out

my other profiles via Linktree I am also on Orion, which I have high hopes for, although that is still under development. You may be able to join in its beta stage if you wish by clicking HERE

For now, I continue counting my blessings. I am beyond words grateful for my gracious angel hosts. Neither of us anticipated my stay to be this long. While it may have been lovely to be in a tropical location by now, there is no way express my gratitude for the powerful gifts of understanding, caring, encouragement and appreciation at the level I have been privileged.

Love and Gratitude have been ongoing themes in my life. In fact, I believe they make my world go round. Hopefully you also understand how powerful these emotions/ways of BEing are in your world as well. Then you will resonate with why it is essential in almost all my communication. At the risk of sounding like a parrot repeating the same phrase, I reiterate my gratitude for You! The litany of all my generous supporters is endless. Every kind word, every bed, every meal, every dollar, every excursion, every connection, every prayer, every sprinkling of bright energy and intention have been an invaluable part of my adventure. May you feel my deep love and appreciation every time you think of me.

And now some Precious Baby pics to make you smile....

An Exchange Between Two Little Masters

And so my journey continues, one step at a time – barefoot whenever comfortable. Blessings, joy, and magical moments on your journey - hopefully barefooted at times too! Happy Spring….or Autumn if you happen to be reading this from the Southern Hemisphere ðŸ’–

Transformation and Travels

It is with the deepest gratitude that I was touched by the outpouring of Love from my Valentine post. I basked in the love showered from comments on blogger as well as other social media platforms. It continued to flow in heartfelt emails, texts and phone calls from family and friends who remembered how special Valentine’s celebration is for me. Thank you all for the incredible, uplifting boost you gave me during a time I especially could use it. I am still doing my utmost to navigate this unusual odyssey I have agreed to in my search for the Paradise of my dreams.

No surprise, my sweet little grandson made his appearance on this planet during Love Month. He has been an unanticipated joy this past year moving from precious angelic infant to bright, bustling, smiling toddler. Happy Birthday Dear Little Boy! We have had oodles of fun and delight together celebrating You!

While the Chinese Lunar Year of the Snake officially kicked off January 29th, I’d like to “shed” a bit more light here now. The spiritual significance of Snake includes shedding the old, rebirth, transformation, immortality, and healing.   Snakes have shown up a number of times during my life.

In Florida, they appeared as Guardian snakes. When I actually owned a house in Florida, there were snake burrows both at the front and back doors. I would find them out sunning themselves regularly. Often, they would lift their head off the ground 5-8 inches. I’d squat down or sit on the ground near them and
commune. Sometimes our faces were only 12 inches apart for a significant amount of time. There were instances the snake would leave first and others that I needed to get going first. Certain snakes are said to be Guardians of the Temple. I felt it very appropriate and was honored by their vigilant presence. It could have been the building that housed me was a temple or they were metaphorically guarding the temple of my soul. Since then, I have stayed with many different hosts in
numerous homes in Florida. At every single residence was at least one black guardian snake. It could be this Year of the Snake is metaphoric for me. Or, perhaps, it holds a magical transformation. It would be lovely if that included an enchanting tropical manifestation! Whatever the case, I know I still have layers to shed and levels of transformation to move through. Since my soul is immortal, perhaps my human aspect still needs to move through another evolution to get where I think I am going. Maybe I get there in this lifetime. Possibly another. For NOW, I continue to follow the clues as best I can, like a treasure hunt, for my tropical retreat calling.

It’s a given that snakes are not on many people’s list of favorite animals. Especially with all the association of their kind over the ages – think Serpent in the Garden of Eden and St Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland. Even in those examples, many would be surprised if they knew the actual origin of those stories. And yes, I know reptiles aren’t the cuddliest of creatures as well. However, snakes do have some rather amazing qualities that we can learn and benefit from, if we so choose. Perhaps there is a little wiggle room in your belief system to learn from this sacred slithering species? Oh, one more thing I “get” from Snakes….to stay in your power no matter what others think. Who knows? You may get lucky and have a powerful breakthrough/transformation as you start shedding old beliefs that no longer positively serve you.

The words Thank You cannot adequately express how appreciative I am for your

ongoing support, encouragement, love and ideas as I journey forward on my Tropical Quest. For those readers new to the details and ways I am going about my mission…I travel to tropical beach locations that might hold clues for me. This is done mostly by work exchange – very little money. Here is a link to my profile on one of the exchange platforms I am on. Please share with anyone for whom it may be appropriate. I also welcome your ideas and connections for where My Place might be.

If you have been inspired, entertained, or positively nudged by my writings and adventures, I would be honored if you’d consider donating to my quest…. There is a paypal link on the blogger site if you prefer. I do get the full amount of your donation if you specify it is a gift. zelle and venmo are also options. Contact me if you want more info in this regard. Thank You!

Feel the blessings and light I continue to swirl around you on your journey as we are all on a quest in one form or another.

Love Always ~

50 Shades of Teal

Greetings My Friends!

It’s been a spell since we last communed here. With the world whirling seemingly faster every day, I am honored you share your precious time taking in my musings.

50 Shades of Teal reflects my Bahamian experience both literally and metaphorically.

During my expedition to the Abacos, I had the opportunity to review my previous blog posts. With internet and platform changes over the years some posts were missing pictures, text and more. I hadn’t done this prior as it was too time consuming and I didn’t think many people were going back to read them. Evidently people were, and I wanted to respect them with a better presentation.  Along with photos obviously missing, there were many gross typos, so blatant I couldn’t believe I didn’t catch before, and the missing text was significant. In some posts, I refer to an earlier post (before I knew how to link to those previous posts) and either the post or that specific content is missing. Continuity is a bit improved as I did my best to make corrections. In that endeavor, I also made an interesting discovery. Rereading blog posts of January and February 2020, they were uncannily prophetic of the time ahead. If you are one of my newer audience members, you may enjoy reading about my earlier adventures. Should you choose to do so, may I suggest starting with the initial post on blogger in 2009. There were a few previous posts (on other platforms) but that would be the most effortless commencement point. Then read in chronological, or date, order. With all the challenges in my presentation, it seems to make more sense that way. Please be kind regarding duplicate posts, missing images and possibly words, as well as awkward spacing.

Ironically this pic showed bigger than others and I can't make it smaller!
Before leaving California, AXICOM assisted me in making sure things worked on my computer for upcoming travel. Uncannily, within a week of arriving in the Bahamas, my E key started acting up. Did you know E is the most used letter in English language? Over my time there, it got almost unusable as I pursued one solution after another. The efforts were almost comical including my computer, unexpectedly, going for a ferry ride on its own in a brown paper bag. If you’ve read my blog, for any amount of time, you may have noticed the history of technology and I having the craziest tango. So far, an ongoing saga...

Probably due to my remembrance of a “past life” close to Nikola Tesla, I am not a fan of Edison. However, many can relate to his example ~ of discovering 1,000 -10,000 (depending on your sources) ways an electric light bulb didn’t work before he successfully created a working light bulb. In the Bahamas, I had a fantastic experience discovering yet another area that didn’t match 100% the specifics of “my place”. Considering I didn’t utilize 90% of what I brought in my suitcases is a pretty good indicator of the difference of what I anticipated and what actually transpired. Then again, the frequency of such a happenstance should have me quite accustomed to it by now. Hmmm…having an experience over and over until I “get it” – or simply embrace it.

Another sign or premonition was the silver chain necklace on which hung my black pearl * broke just after arriving in Abaco. I’ve had a number of signs/symbolism pertaining to jewelry - with it disappearing, breaking, and, magically appearing. It was quickly apparent this was not “My Place” as I

discovered there are no long white sand west facing beaches. Many, many sharks frequented the main island I was on. Generally sharks and dolphins aren't BFFs. The whole time, I had only one brief visit by a lone dolphin. I appreciated the fleeting encounter and was intuitively aware of some of the “deeper” reasons why.

There are positive reasons for everything as well as the absolute knowing I was in the perfectly right place at exactly the right time. So I focused on what was aligned with my vision for the time:
* Clear Teal - Turquoise Water
* White Sand Caressing My Feet
* Sweet Solitude
* Dolphins and Turtles
* Warm Climate
* Delicious Fresh Coconuts
* Being Barefoot 3 Months
* Loving Caring Interactions With Beautiful People
* Decadent Chocolate

I can relate my life to having a huge screen where I have access to every movie and tv show ever – desirable and not so desirable. It’s just a matter of me figuring out the proper use of the remote (sometimes a tricky task) to get the show I wish to experience instead of the one it is stuck on.

For those who perhaps haven’t quite reached their goals, I ask you to look and see what qualities of that goal, or those goals, have you currently manifested. What aspects are you enjoying right now? I believe the more we notice and appreciate in our present that which is desired, the desired will continue to multiply.

Back to a little about my trip. No surprise, I spent much time on the beach bedazzled with many a sunrise and sunset. My exploring, in all directions, resulted in acquiring information, seeing stunning sights, and acquiring numerous sea treasures. Views of the mighty Atlantic, as ever changing as my life, accompanied by the lullaby of the waves were a daily delight from my bedroom.

My charming host, Mary, was quite fascinating and somewhat of a prominent figure on the island. Among other skills and interests, she is a published author and prolific artist. Thankfully, I was able to be with her during her vivacious state. As time went by, serious health issues developed that drastically altered her life. It became clear that she would need 24-hour care. Since my host was so dear, I wanted to help but this clearly wasn’t what I signed up for. I decided to stay a couple months while a suitable caretaker was found. My host has three charming, and extremely loving, daughters - all super gifted in their own right. We had some ups and downs dealing with challenges as they arose but it was always with a sense of love and caring. It was an extreme honor and blessing just being able to spent time with these four amazing gals. Sometimes it is in the making of the lemonade that you realize some of life’s unique deliciousness!

Oh, I must mention not one, but two amazing boating adventures I was treated to. Both were a blend of fun, wonder, and getting lost in another world…under the sea. From the brilliant multi-colored fish to the amazing variety of coral; I wondered if Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss) ever went snorkeling.

Then, there was the discovery of Atlantean crystals in a popular area in plain view although nobody I encountered there ever saw them. But that is another story that may or may not be revealed in future tales. It was similar to all the crystals I found on the beach in Ecuador, including amethyst, that hardly anyone else saw. One of the quartz crystals is pictured in Baring My Soul and Planting a Dream.

Another highlight was my birthday surprise. With it being a magical day to start with, my host and her daughters made it a fantastic day to remember. They accommodated me going to one of my favorite bays. I had it all to myself – the turquoise (or teal) warm water, the idyllic white sand beach, blue skies with the perfect fluffy Care-A-Lot clouds, palm trees swaying ahhhh….. It was followed by a fun party with delightful company, a decadent famous chocolate cake – so many things went into making my milestone 60th (yes, you read that right) birthday special. They have my forever gratitude for that and infinite other ways they made my stay so wonderful.  As you may know, I am a big fan of celebrations and (happy) surprises 😊

Inspirational tidbits often come into my awareness at the perfect time. That was the case for the following “message from the Universe” via Mike Dooley.

“What if, MH, you're already doing everything right, even though you're not sure?

And the surprises along the way have only sped things up, even though it felt like they slowed you down?

And all that you want is now barreling toward you, even though you can't see it?

And when it arrives it'll exceed your every expectation, even though your dreams were huge?

Wouldn't you be making some really weird noises about now? Whoohooing, howling… maybe even whoohoo-howl-barking?

Well?

  The Universe”

Recently, I caught from a friend the concept of plans being written in the sand at low tide. That sure accurately describes the majority of my life over the years. I have one idea. The Universe then erases it in one swift wave and I am on to the next adventure.

Indeed, the Abaco Cay I enjoyed is many folks’ heaven. Indisputably, there are gorgeous areas there but, just as clearly, not “mine” soooo the Quest continues….

Ongoing thanks to all my Angels (now my Bahamian host and her daughters, who I feel more as my sisters, are included). As I compose this, my next adventure is excitingly unfolding! More on that to come. Meanwhile, if my messages have helped, inspired and/or entertained you, I welcome your continued support. I could not have gotten this far on my incredible journey without you! It might simply be a moment of sending bright energy or a prayer. Please contact if you wish to contribute financially. The Tower Garden is an awesome way to support your own health and me too 😉 Juice Plus is one of the most amazing nutritional support systems out there. Just a reminder that kids get J+ FREE through the Healthy Starts Program with participating adult – Could be a parent, grandparent, sibling, friend, or other sponsor.

As alluded to earlier, technology is continuing to be a challenge for me morphing into a higher level of complexity than before. Rising to this daunting task, an incredible tech wizard angel is currently working miracles with it. In the meantime, I continue doing what I can where I am with what I’ve got. Translation, this delayed post is getting out more imperfectly than I’d like but is the best I can do for now.

Wishing you best health and happiness. May all your challenges turn into wonderful surprise opportunities as I have managed to appreciate with many of mine.

Love and DeLight ~

*My Black Pearl was gifted me by my parents for my 50th birthday. They’d purchased it for that purpose a couple years prior on their visit to Tahiti for that special birthday. Occasionally, I throw tidbits in my stories that seemingly don’t relate. However, as one reads, they might notice how all the pieces tie together 😉
